Robots For Christ Emerges Winner of NGT 2

The season 2 of Nigeria Got Talent (NGT) co-sponsored by Malta Guinness, attained a climax recently with the emergence of Robots for Christ as winner of the coveted grand prize of N10 Million. The Grand Finale was held in Lagos recently.

Back in 2012, Malta Guinness launched the ‘Africa Rising’ campaign, designed to inspire young talents across Africa to fuel their rise with the Goodness, Energy and Vitality of Malta Guinness, which are evident in the uniqueness of the top 10 acts we are here to celebrate.’


The first runner up was instrumentalist and singer, Daniel Azuka, who thrilled fans and audience with melodious renditions, while second runner-up was the drummer boy, David Adekoya Aduragbemi, who lightened up the entire place with incredible drum beats. To further light up the event, season 1 winner Amarachi Uyanne, performed her break out song, Amarachi’s Dance at the finale.

Prior to the final event, the organisers had combed the nation for talents for months beginning with regional auditions in eight cities across the nation. This was followed by theatre auditions in Lagos from which the top 40 were selected to participate in the semi-finals in groups of eight over a period of five weeks with two best acts from each group going through to the finals.

The other finalists include Laff Doctor, Korede Odukale, Daniel ‘8 Strings’ Azuka, C.I.D Squad, D’ Flex, Elevators NG, Praize Puppets and D Naturals.

Couples Win Infinix Mobility Valentine Promo

Six couples, including a journalist, Mr. Lanre Odukoya and his wife, Omolayo, have emerged winners in the Infinix Mobility consumer promotion tagged “Share the Love."

The Promo, which ran between January and February, was designed to reward the customers of Infinix phones for the Valentine season.

Prior to the promo, the company had issued a statement, urging consumers, who were interested to buy any of the Infinix smart phones and write a short love note to their partner.

It further stated that they would post the love note on the Infinix Facebook page or drop with an Infinix in-store rep while indicating the IMEI of the phone bought and their contact details. 

Customers with the highest likes on Facebook and the customer with the best love note submitted at the Infinix in-stores were selected.

At the prize presentation that coincided with Valentine's day in Lagos, Mr. & Mrs. Odukoya won the grand prize of an all-expense paid weekend getaway at a beautiful resort in Lagos. Mr. & Mrs. Kingsley Efe won a dinner at an exquisite Chinese restaurant while Mr.& Mrs. Sylvia Sanya, Mr.& Mrs. Steve Adams and Mr. & Mrs. Kaycee Oguchi won the consolation prize of free movie tickets.

After receiving the prize, Mr. Lanre Odukoya, who works with a national newspaper expressed his gratitude to the company for the opportunity to go on a second honeymoon in one month, having just returned from one.

He said: “This is very interesting to me. I got married just about one month ago. Though I didn’t have a quality time for my honeymoon because of some personal issues I had to attend to immediately after the wedding, I am excited about this wonderful opportunity to have a second shot at honeymoon in just one month after the wedding.”

Speaking on how he participated in the promo, Odukoya said “We wanted a good phone and we both went out shopping. After buying the Infinix phone, we were informed about the promo and decided to participate. My wife actually wrote the beautiful lines that won us the grand prize,” he added.

Speaking while presenting the prizes, Network Operations Manager, Infinix Mobility, Mr. Bayo Shobanjo, said the promo was an avenue to reward customers and rekindle the fire of love among couples.

“At Infinix, we believe in love because we know love is beautiful and deserves to be celebrated. We designed the promo to re-ignite love among our customers using the season of valentine. The prizes, weekend getaway, dinner and movie tickets, were carefully selected to promote better intimacy among the couples, who have emerged winners today. We are proud that Infinix is contributing to the social wellbeing of the family system in Nigeria.” he noted.
